JRM's first red carpet in a long time-what look would u like to see?

Hey everyone! I'm back!!

I hope I've got an interesting new topic for this page. Seeing as the full Cannes 2012 line-up will be announced soon (on the 19th or 20th) and Belle du Seigneur's Stealth Media Group mentioned that they would be there it is entirely possible that Belle du Seigneur might just finally premiere at Cannes 2012!!

If that's the case, which I hope it is (it better be...lol!) it will be JRM's first big red carpet in quite a while...which is really exciting...and maybe also a bit nerve racking for him. We already know that the man's got style but again, it's been a while since we've seen him in a black tie kind of look and fashion changes.

So let's have a hypothetical "style JRM for his red carpet comeback" discussion assuming that the red carpet is the Cannes 2012 premiere of Belle Du Seigneur. Oooh la la!

Here's my two cents:

a) The Outfit

JRM can never go wrong with his edgy twists on the classic tuxedo or three-piece suit but I'd love to see him stand out in say, a lighter linen suit from a spring/summer collection. I am picturing a cornflower blue button up dress shirt-which would really offset his eyes-paired with a tailored linen suit in a lighter colour such as a flattering shade of beige/cream/off-white or light grey...but not Saturday Night Fever white (he did that already!). Perhaps something like what he wore in one of his Versace ads-the one with the transparent shirt-but more grown up, mature and subdued..no transparent shirt!

As for designers JRM's one-time go to guy John Galliano is totally out at the moment, disgraced and mired in controversy over a drunken rant...which is the last thing JRM needs to be associated with! As talented as he may be...Galliano and his bad judgment are out of the question. Donatella on the other hand is not, but she's too safe an option for JRM to go with as is BOSS, despite their spot-on tailoring. I'd like to see him wear a designer he hasn't really worn a lot of before...I'm sure he can out-sexy Ryan Gosling if he goes with Burberry but looking classically British in France might not be the best idea..lol The rock n roll-ish, edgy Italian label DSQUARED is another intersting option for trademark JRM style but I'd really like to see him spotlight a more mature, polished image with Armani or Prada. I can't think of any French menswear labels at the moment!

Just picture JRM in the 1960s-style tailored linen suit (no tie) with Natalia in a matching lush cornflower blue couture masterpiece and the rest of the BdS production crew in penguin suits behind them...

Finally since most of us like JRM in glasses he could whip out a slick pair of specs for the press conference. To go with the 1960s preppy meets Cannes look that I'm envisioning I think he'd look good in one of Prada's 60s inspired tortoise shell horn-rimmed styles..perhaps even the "geek" frames that everyone is rocking these days. I would want JRM's facing the press panel look to say "I am back!" "I am fashionable/I am a leading man." "I mean business, no stupid or insensitive questions, please." and also "I am a serious contender for the role of Christian Grey-don't count me out!".

b) Hair/makeup/Grooming...cuz it's a red carpet!

-Hair

Anything except that unflattering buzz-cut style will do!! I personally believe that JRM needs at least a little extra length on top for his hair to really flatter him. For the look that I'm describing above I'd like for him to channel a mature/preppy/retro effect with his hair too. A side part would look cute..obviously not as slicked down as in his film but more modern and wispy/undone..like in Match Point when he takes the high powered job but still a little more polished for the red carpet.

-Facial Hair

None ideally!!! I want to see those lips and bone structure unobscured and no remnants of King Henry. That said I really liked JRM's 'stache at the season II Tudors premiere in 2008. I would tolerate that kind of 'stache...but I'd still rather see him clean shaven!

-Makeup

Since it's a red carpet must I'd like to see him do what he has to do but not to overdo it. This means no orange spray tan!! A light tan like he sported in MI-III would be a better option or no tan at all, like at the From Paris with Love premiere where his seemingly natural skin tone looked really good. I hope he's going to find a makeup person who really knows what they're doing and won't let him walk out there oompa loompa orange!


Anyway..these are just suggestions and we don't know yet if the movie will even premiere at Cannes but I am optimistic and looking forward to seeing a more mature, sophisticated leading man JRM on his first big red carpet in a while...whether it's in Cannes or Venice or even something much more low-profile...but deep down I want to see him at a big event!

I really don't care what he's gonna wear as long as that horible Elvis boots stay in the closet.

I would mostly just want him to look good, as in happy. But that might be hard to get, as he may indeed be nervewrecked to get back into the game again.

I have never seen him in a beige suit. It might actually be really refreshing. Light grey is always a good look for him too. But black and dark blue look very good on him as well. I guess I don't really mind what he wears, as long as he's comfortable in it.

I don't know about the hair. I think I like it when it is a little bit longer on top, like Glamrock said (welcome back, btw, I already thought you had permanently left us, so glad you are back ). Make up, as little as possible, but if he needs some to look more healthy (and I think he has been looking good and healthy on the recent fan pics) then by all means let him use some.

With regard to facial hair: I always prefer Jonny clean shaven. I prefer any man clean shaven, to be honest. Some moustaches and goaties look good on Jonny, but I prefer a face not to be itchy and pinching from stubbles.

Well in my opinion the best always a black suit or if it isn´t black of dark colour. I like a lot white shirts made of a beautiful cotton and in my opinion without tie or tie but no bow tie.Black lace shoes..
About hair: I like his for example inAugust Rush or in the premiere of The Tudors season 1This i one of my favourite Jonny´s hair.. I don´t know about shave or no.. ussually I like sahven boys.. but I think that Jonny also looks fantastic with beard... very male!!! I don´t like the tanned.. I think that is better natural skin but if he decide to go to the "sun" please only a bit..

Option 1 or 3. I think i prefer 1 the most. It's more casual.
